In Bengal, we embarked on a gastronomic journey, unfolding a new chapter of culinary discovery each day. From bustling markets and traditional cooking sessions to tea trails amidst scenic landscapes, we savoured the vibrant flavours and rich heritage of the East. Immersing ourselves in the essence of West Bengal, we blended tradition with innovation, creating unforgettable culinary experiences along the way.
Day 1: Kolkata Culinary Prelude
As we embarked on our culinary journey, our first stop was setting up the AMPM kitchen for the adventures that lay ahead. Energized and eager, we wandered through Park Street, our senses enticed by the aroma of Kusum rolls wafting through the air. Amidst our exploration, we stumbled upon the Russell Exchange, a treasure trove of antique goods, each with a story to tell.
Day 2: Kolkata Market Exploration
Early morning finds us venturing to Muchi Bazaar in North Kolkata alongside Chef Auroni Mukerjee. Here, amidst the bustling market stalls, we immerse ourselves in a world of fresh seasonal produce, engaging with local vendors to glean insights into traditional cooking techniques.
After our market escapade, we indulge in a delectable breakfast at Tangra area, relishing noodles tossed in lard, fried chicken, and roast pork chili.
Returning to AMPM, we transition into shooting, ingredient storage, and prep mode before concluding the day with a memorable bar pop-up by Beckaly Franks, hailed as one of Asia's best bartenders.

Day 3: Glenburn Penthouse Media Event
We kick-start the day with a warm welcome to journalists and bloggers at the Glenburn Penthouse. Chef Shawn and Chef Vanshika craft a delightful menu of pass-around snacks using market-fresh ingredients. Our signature OMO dishes take centre stage, showcasing the essence of our culinary journey.
Day 4: Arrival in Kalimpong
Arriving in Kalimpong, we settled into our Airbnb accommodations. In the evening, we embark on a leisurely stroll to Cloud 9, immersing ourselves in the flavours of Nepali cuisine amidst the serene hilly landscapes.

Day 5: Kalimpong Exploration
Exploring the City Centre Market, local art shops, and eateries, we soak in the vibrant culture of Kalimpong. A cooking session with Airbnb host Ishita introduces us to traditional dishes, culminating in a soul-satisfying dinner featuring Aloo Dum, Kodo Millet Fries, Perilla chutney, and more.
Day 6: Glenburn Tea Estate
Venturing to Haat Bazaar for ingredients, we plan an OMO-style tasting menu. Departing for Glenburn Tea Estate, we delve into the kitchen, herb gardens, and meet the team. An evening cocktail bar with Bombay Sapphire X AMPM sets the stage for a memorable dinner amidst the estate's picturesque surroundings.

Day 7: Tea Trail and Traditional Lunch
Embarking on a tea factory visit and tasting session, we immerse ourselves in the rich history of Glenburn Tea Estate. Chef Sabin showcases traditional cooking techniques as he prepares lunch on a Nepali Chulha. Prep for the OMO tasting menu sets the tone for an evening of gastronomic delights.
Day 8: OMO Tasting Menu
The group embarked on a picturesque hike to the river, traversing tea fields and forests, and immersing ourselves in the beauty of the local flora. Afterward, we indulged in a riverside lunch, enjoying the serene ambiance as some of us cooled off with a refreshing splash.
Later in the day, we savoured the OMO tasting menu, drawing inspiration from our journey through the heart of North Bengal. Utilizing ingredients sourced from the local market and foraged from the region, we curated a dining experience that celebrated the essence of Bengal's culinary heritage. Dinner was elegantly served course by course, amidst candlelit ambiance, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.
Day 9: Return to Kolkata
Journeying from Bagdogra to Kolkata, we prepare for the OMO Brunch Pop-up at AMPM, eagerly anticipating another culinary celebration.
Day 10: OMO Brunch Pop-up
After traveling from Bagdogra to Kolkata, we dive into preparations for the highly anticipated OMO Brunch Pop-up at AMPM. As the day unfolds, our efforts culminate in a sold-out event, where we delight Kolkata's vegetarian population with a curated selection of classic OMO dishes, creating a memorable culinary experience for all.
